X-Ray Technologist Overview

At Fast Pace Urgent Care, X-Ray Techs provide essential clinical and administrative support for effective patient care under the supervision of a Provider, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant. They deliver outstanding patient service in a compassionate and welcoming environment, responding quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment, in addition to imaging. The X-Ray Tech will ensure effective customer service for all internal and external customers by utilizing in-depth knowledge and communicating effectively with team members.

Responsibilities
  • Fulfill all responsibilities of Nurse/Clinical Tech and Patient Care Specialist as detailed in respective job descriptions.
  • Support clinical and administrative tasks, adhering to company policies.
  • Monitor and track x-ray orders for timely completion and submission.
  • Assist patients with proper positioning during exams to ensure diagnostic quality.
  • Conduct activities in compliance with department expectations and regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Review exam images for initial provider review and send final images to radiology for over-read.
  • Label images correctly with laterality using lead markers and ensure artifact-free images with proper technique.
  • Address minor maintenance issues and follow up with the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain equipment, ensure cleanliness, and monitor for wear or malfunction.
  • Manage pregnancy waiver forms and triage patients by recording vitals and clinical history.
  • Perform blood draws, injections, oral medication administration, and other nursing tasks as applicable.
  • Monitor and report radiation badge status and maintain compliance with radiation safety protocols.
  • Complete mandatory compliance training and support new employee onboarding and training.
  • Maintain positive relationships with colleagues and clients, fostering a friendly work environment.
  • Perform physical, sensory, cognitive, and environmental functions as required.
  • Adhere to company standards, core values, and operational procedures.
  • Experience and Certification Requirements

    Current License or Certification:

    • ARRT License (Registered Technologist)
    • State License (Registered Technologists and Limited Scope)
    • Active, in good standing, and verifiable with the regulatory agency.
    • TB and IV Certification required within 60 days of employment, maintained as per state requirements.
    Full Scope X-Ray Requirements

    Levels 1-5 specify educational background, experience, and responsibilities, from high school diploma and limited scope experience to advanced levels with ultrasound and casting skills. Each level has specific duties, including increased X-ray volume, specialized techniques, and administrative responsibilities.

    Education and License Details

    High School Diploma or equivalent;
    Limited Scope X-Ray Technologist License; ARRT Certification;
    Full Scope X-Ray Technologist State License.
