Fabricator Shop Helper

Location: West Monroe, LA
Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour
Schedule: 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM

• 2 years of experience working in a shop environment
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong math and measuring skills, including basic trigonometry
• Knowledge of welding and metal forming processes preferred
• Ability to lift materials and work in a manufacturing environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

• Fabricate and assemble structural metal products, frameworks, shells, and sheet metal components according to blueprints, work orders, and verbal instructions
• Develop layouts and plan fabrication sequences using knowledge of metal properties, welding shrinkage, stock allowances, and basic trigonometry
• Measure, locate, and mark bending and cutting lines on materials
• Set up and operate fabrication equipment including welders, press brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses
• Design and build templates, jigs, and fixtures to support fabrication processes
• Inspect finished work pieces and verify conformance to specifications using measuring tools such as squares, rulers, and tape measures
• Operate shop equipment including radial drill presses, lathes, CNC machines, and punch presses as needed
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
