** The Job You Will Perform:*
* The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for leading daily production operations within a corrugated packaging manufacturing facility. This role oversees employees, machine assets, quality standards, safety compliance, production scheduling, and continuous improvement initiatives associated with the manufacturing and printing of bulk corrugated boxes. The supervisor ensures the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of converting equipment such as corrugators, flexographic printers, die cutters, folder-gluers, and finishing equipment while meeting customer requirements and plant performance objectives.
** Key Responsibilities*
* ** Production Leadership*
* + Direct and coordinate daily manufacturing activities across assigned shifts.
+ Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards.
+ Monitor workflow and adjust staffing or machine assignments to optimize throughput.
+ Manage startup, shutdown, and changeover activities of manufacturing equipment.
+ Track key performance indicators (KPIs) including schedule attainment, waste, efficiency, downtime, and labor utilization.
+ Collaborate with planning and scheduling teams to prioritize customer orders and production requirements.
** Equipment & Machine Asset Management*
* + Supervise the operation of converting or corrugated presses, die cutters, folder-gluers, stitchers, and finishing equipment.
+ Monitor machine performance and utilization to maximize operational efficiency.
+ Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities with maintenance teams.
+ Ensure proper machine setup and adherence to operating procedures.
** Safety & Environmental Compliance*
* + Promote a culture of safety through active engagement and leadership.
+ Conduct safety meetings, audits, observations, and investigations.
+ Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and environmental standards.
+ Identify workplace hazards and implement corrective actions.
+ Maintain emergency response preparedness and incident reporting procedures.
+ Enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
** Quality Management*
* + Ensure products meet customer specifications and company quality standards.
+ Monitor print quality, box dimensions, material integrity, and finished product requirements.
+ Lead root-cause analysis and corrective action efforts related to quality issues.
+ Work closely with Quality Assurance personnel to minimize customer complaints and defects.
+ Support continuous improvement efforts focused on reducing waste and increasing first-pass yield.
** Employee Leadership & Development*
* + Supervise, coach, and develop production team members.
+ Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
+ Manage employee attendance, disciplinary actions, and workforce scheduling.
+ Identify training needs and ensure employees are properly qualified to operate equipment.
+ Foster teamwork, accountability, and employee engagement.
+ Lead shift meetings and communicate plant goals and performance expectations.
** Continuous Improvement*
* + Support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and operational excellence initiatives.
+ Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, safety, quality, and cost performance.
+ Utilize data analysis to drive process improvements.
+ Implement standard work procedures and best practices.
+ Equivalent combination of education and manufacturing leadership experience may be considered.
** Experience*
* + 3-7 years of manufacturing, production, or operations experience.
+ 2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
