Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Job Summary
A Service Tech I at United Rentals is responsible for performing maintenance tasks and minor repairs on rental equipment. Candidates should bring mechanical skills and a commitment to customer service.
Responsibilities- Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use.
- Report machine condition to Management.
- Perform minor repairs of rental equipment, including checking oil, grease, fluids, electrical systems, AC systems, and plumbing.
- Tag equipment for rental ready status.
- Assist with pick‑up and delivery of equipment and parts.
- Manage and organize inventory.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Basic knowledge of diesel engines, vacuum trucks, AC systems, RV systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools applicable to the position.
- Basic plumbing knowledge.
- Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
