Position: Materials Manager 361050

Job Title

The role involves managing the procurement, inventory, and distribution of medical equipment and supplies. Key duties include:

  • Demonstrating knowledge of appropriate vendors to obtain equipment and supplies
  • Maintaining current files, records, and catalogs for equipment and sales representatives
  • Researching vendors to locate specialized equipment as requested by the medical staff and approved by the administrator/management
  • Meeting with vendor representatives to review new items available and changes in prices
  • Understanding responsibility in maintaining proper levels of inventory and timely distribution
  • Placing orders in a timely manner when requisitioned by various areas of the facility
  • Monitoring orders to ensure correct and timely delivery
  • Supervising the receiving area to maintain stores securely
  • Demonstrating appropriate response to changes in schedule to avoid delay in providing equipment and overstock of inventories
  • Reviewing schedules well in advance to anticipate any unusual high or low demand for supplies
  • Continually communicating with the clinical director and administrator regarding special procedure requirements
  • Determining whether correct orders are received, tracking back orders, and rectifying incorrect charges
  • Reviewing all invoices for accuracy by coordinating packing slips and purchase orders
  • Monitoring back orders and communicating with accounts payable to facilitate accurate payment
  • Reporting any invoice discrepancies to the administrator before payment
  • Demonstrating knowledge of appropriate systems for the collection and maintenance of records and documentation pertinent to supplies, equipment, and systems
  • Maintaining current files and records regarding orders and back orders
  • Reviewing orders at specific intervals to determine delays
  • Maintaining and frequently reviewing records of warranties and preventive maintenance requirements and contracts
  • Maintaining logs of linen supplies
  • Maintaining supplies and records for biohazardous waste management
