Job OverviewThe Senior Communications Analyst is an exceptional writer and creator of content who develops and implements communication strategies that engage and inform diverse audiences. They are responsible for developing and executing content and communications across a variety of channels that support the IT division's objectives and priorities. The Senior Communications Analyst collaborates with leadership and cross-functional teams to provide alternatives, recommendations, and solutions for communication strategies and plans.
They are expected to handle more complex communication efforts and are a knowledge resource for Communications Analysts and others, providing advice, council, and guidance on communication matters. Senior Communication Analysts are self-directed and work with minimal supervision.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree
Minimum: Associate degree with 2 or more years of relevant work experience
Work Experience5+ years of experience in communications, marketing, change management, or related field, preferably in healthcare or information technology
Responsibilities- Identifying and understanding target audiences, developing and implementing communication strategies and plans, and developing compelling, clear messages in support of IT initiatives.
- Writing, editing, and designing a variety of internal and external communications for the IT division, including but not limited to, email campaigns, electronic newsletters, online content, print collateral (e.g. flyers, posters, brochures), digital screens, videos, and presentations.
- Leveraging multiple communication channels, including but not limited to, electronic newsletters, emails, website, print collateral, presentations, and meetings to generate engagement, publish key messages, and facilitate change management to diverse stakeholder groups.
- Developing and maintaining email distribution lists for disseminating communications to target audiences
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of communication campaigns and acting, when warranted, to improve communication efforts.
- Collaborating with IT leadership/teams and RWJBH Corporate Marketing and Communications to ensure effective and consistent messaging and branding.
- Coordinating and/or participating in events, such as division meetings, work groups, councils, and application go-live readiness assessments.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with IT leadership/teams, operational leadership/staff, and RWJBH Corporate Marketing and Communications.
- Designing and developing communication templates and internal logos/icons.
- Developing website pages and/or content.
- Occasionally, working weekends and evenings for special events and/or urgent communication needs.
- Excellent writing and editing skills to frame and convey key messages to a wide variety of internal and external audiences and to make complex topics easy to understand
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to confidently provide council, ask clarifying questions, challenge the status quo, suggest alternatives, and provide recommendations
- Excellent creativity and writing skills in a variety of styles and formats
- Strong ability to handle ambiguity and fluid priorities, change course when warranted, and manage multiple and competing priorities effectively (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
