Our client in W. Palm Beach, FL is searching for a Staff Accountant. This is an onsite, direct hire position.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Prepare and enter monthly journal entries required for period-end close.
  • Reconcile regional balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Compile financial statements for each location and business unit within the region.
  • Create the monthly management reporting package for leadership review.
  • Supervise coding and processing of accounts payable transactions.
  • Partner with billing and office managers to ensure accurate and timely invoicing for all customers in the region.
  • Support office managers in collecting outstanding receivables to maintain healthy cash flow.
  • Produce monthly Days Sales Outstanding reports and review trends with leadership to recommend improvement actions.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with both customers and internal staff.
  • Prepare monthly revenue and expense projections for management evaluation.
  • Assist with preliminary proformas and documentation for RFPs, bids, and new business opportunities.
  • Generate monthly variance analysis comparing actual results to budget and forecast.
  • Review and analyze revenue trends across locations and service lines.
  • Examine labor hour reporting by location and business segment.
  • Confirm disposal invoices match data within the billing and dispatch systems.
  • Ensure all required franchise reports are completed and submitted according to monthly and quarterly deadlines.
  • Collect, validate, and enter financial and operational data used for productivity reporting.
  • Provide backup support to office managers and the controller as needed.
  • Learn and assist with the creation or refinement of SAP process workflows.
  • Track capital expenditures and prepare monthly and year‑to‑date reporting.
  • Support the annual budgeting process, including uploading final budgets into the accounting system.
  • Perform additional assignments as requested by the Market Area Controller or corporate accounting.
Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Waste industry accounting experience required.
  • 4+ years' experience in full cycle accounting/financial analysis required.
  • ERP experience (SAP preferred) and strong Excel proficiency.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret operational trends.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in high‑volume transactional environments.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and operate in fast‑paced environments.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with field operations, billing staff, and management teams.
