Senior Accountant – Commercial Real Estate Firm in West Palm

A leading South Florida real estate development firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its growing accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a dynamic project-based environment and wants direct exposure to large-scale residential, commercial, and mixed-use development projects.

In this role, you'll play a key part in the financial management of active development and construction projects, partnering closely with project teams, lenders, auditors, and senior leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting and project accounting.

• Review and analyze general ledger activity, financial statements, and prepare accruals and adjusting journal entries in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and year-end account reconciliations and supporting work papers
• Manage monthly construction loan requisitions and lender reporting requirements
• Review and code contractor and vendor invoices while monitoring project budgets and job costs
• Coordinate invoice approvals, funding requests, and vendor payments
• Maintain and analyze job cost reports to ensure project activity is accurately recorded
• Assist with annual audits and support external auditors with schedules and documentation
• Prepare financial reporting and provide timely information to ownership groups, lenders, and investment partners
• Support special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Experience in construction, development, real estate, or project accounting environments
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with job costing, construction draws, loan requisitions, or development accounting is highly preferred
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

$95K - $120K base salary, dependent on experience
