Senior Accountant

A growing organization in the West Palm Beach area is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / CPA to support accounting operations, accounts payable controls, financial reporting, reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for a hands‑on accounting professional with strong technical accounting experience, a CPA license, and a background improving systems, workflows, and internal controls.

The ideal candidate will bring progressive accounting experience across areas such as accounts payable, general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, payroll accounting, audit support, and compliance. This person will help ensure accuracy across vendor payments, travel reimbursements, procurement payments, and accounting workflows while supporting system improvements and internal control enhancements.

• Support general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, month‑end close, and financial reporting
• Review accounts payable, vendor payments, travel reimbursements, procurement payments, and related documentation for accuracy and compliance
• Assist with strengthening internal controls, approval workflows, audit trails, and accounting procedures
• Support compliance reviews related to reimbursements, grants, internal policies, and applicable regulations
• Partner with accounting and finance leadership on process improvement initiatives across AP, P‑card, reimbursement, and vendor payment workflows
• Assist with ERP or accounting system improvements, including testing, configuration support, workflow optimization, reporting enhancements, and user acceptance testing
• Support payroll‑related accounting, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting as needed
• Assist with internal audit, SOX/internal controls, documentation, and other compliance‑related accounting initiatives
• Work cross‑functionally with finance, procurement, HR/payroll, operations, and leadership teams

• CPA required or strongly preferred
• Senior‑level accounting experience required
• Strong accounts payable, payment controls, reimbursement review, and vendor payment experience
• Experience with general ledger, month‑end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting
• ERP implementation, transition, testing, configuration, or optimization experience strongly preferred
• Workday experience is a plus
• Experience with internal controls, audit support, SOX, compliance, or policy‑based payment review preferred
• Experience with grants, State of Florida statutes, government funding, automotive, marine, or highly regulated environments is a plus
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to improve processes while maintaining accuracy and compliance
