AR - Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a team in Riviera Beach, Florida for a Contract position. This role will provide essential accounting support with a strong emphasis on accounts receivable and billing activities while helping maintain accurate financial records. The ideal candidate brings solid accounting knowledge, works well in a fast-paced environment, and can step in quickly to support day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities:

- Manage accounts receivable processes, including preparing invoices, monitoring customer balances, and following up on outstanding payments.

- Support billing operations by reviewing charges for accuracy, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely invoicing.

- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain complete and accurate financial records.

- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances to support month-end close activities.

- Assist with sales tax and corporate tax-related accounting tasks, including gathering data and maintaining supporting documentation.

- Contribute to the preparation of reports and schedules needed for corporate tax return support and other financial reviews.

- Maintain organized accounting records and ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready.

- Provide day-to-day accounting coverage during a contract staffing gap and collaborate with internal stakeholders to keep workflows on track. Requirements - Experience in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role with hands-on responsibility for accounts receivable functions.

- Strong billing background with the ability to manage invoicing processes accurately and efficiently.

- Working knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity.

- Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and support for corporate tax return preparation.

- Proficiency in standard accounting systems and spreadsheets used for financial reporting and analysis.

- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

- Experience with ORG billing is highly preferred.
