Senior Statutory Accountant

We are seeking a Senior Accountant with strong external audit experience in P&C Insurance to join a growing, close knit team within a well established residential property insurance organization.

• This role offers full remote flexibility with quarterly in person team sessions (1 week per quarter).

• Support statutory accounting for multiple insurance carriers, including month end journal entries (gross and net of reinsurance) using Net Suite
• Maintain balance sheet account reconciliations
• Prepare statutory (yellow book) financial reports
• Record Accounts Payable and ensure all regulatory reporting and payment deadlines are met
• Record STAT to GAAP conversion entries
• Assist with internal and external audit requests
• Prepare billings to reinsurers
• Provide technical guidance to senior leaders
• Perform financial analytics to explain fluctuations and uncover insights
• Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency
• Actively communicate with reinsurers, auditors, and external partners with professionalism and accuracy
• Serve as an active team member, assisting and reviewing work of staff accountants as needed
• Cross train team members and support knowledge sharing
• Participate in special projects, including automation and streamlining initiatives within accounting and finance
• Contribute to organizational success through ongoing learning and development

• CPA required
• Ideal background:
  
  external audit experience from Big 4 or regional firm, or a mix of public/private
• Strong statutory & GAAP accounting knowledge required
• Someone who enjoys working cross functionally, improving processes, and contributing to a collaborative team
