Government Operations Consultant

This intermediate-level Government Operations Consultant I position with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Southeast District in West Palm Beach conducts organizational studies, evaluates office procedures, and provides technical assistance to improve operational efficiency. The role combines regulatory support duties—managing permits, consent orders, and administrative documentation—with business planning responsibilities including budget processing, requisition tracking, and fleet coordination. The position requires independent judgment, extensive knowledge of administrative functions across multiple program areas, and the ability to train district staff on established procedures.

• Valid driver's license
• At least three (3) years of verifiable related experience in administrative support (or equivalent post-secondary education on a year-for-year basis)
• Knowledge of administrative principles, office procedures, and data collection methods
• Skilled in report writing and administrative communications
• Ability to work independently and coordinate work assignments
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
