Field Crew Chief - Residential Land Surveying

Exacta Land Surveyors is one of the nation’s premier residential and commercial land surveying companies. We provide services across Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia, Florida, and Texas, with a commitment to accurate and timely delivery of residential, commercial, construction, and ALTA/NSPS surveys.

Uses a variety of surveying equipment—including GPS, total stations, and data collectors—to determine elevations and property boundaries for title surveys and elevation certificates. The work is performed outdoors year‑round in various weather conditions and requires the ability to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally.

Monday through Friday with some weekend work during seasonal months. Employees start their work day when departing from home in a company vehicle.

Candidates should be located in the West Palm Beach, Port St. Lucie, or Fort Pierce areas.

• Self‑managed, responsible, safe, and able to work independently.
• Perform duties assigned by the Field Manager to complete projects accurately and timely.
• Download and upload survey data to the proper files in the computer network or field data collector.
• Mark points of measurement with elevation, station number, or other identifying mark.
• Cut and clear brush and trees from the line of survey.
• Maintain quality of data in the field; perform accurate simple calculations as needed.
• Maintain equipment and vehicle, ensuring proper supplies each morning and returning remaining equipment at the end of the shift.
• Full adherence to Exacta’s policies, procedures, and work directives.
• Resolve internal and external customer issues promptly and professionally.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, managers, clients, and other parties.
• Perform all duties in a safe, ethical, and professional manner.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Desired: two years of job‑related experience in the surveying industry.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets insurance requirements.
• Basic arithmetic and knowledge of units of measurement, algebra, trigonometry, and geometry.
• Ability to operate instruments required for the collection or distribution of survey data (total station, data collector, GPS).
• Proficiency in independent application of job‑related software/e‑technology/cloud‑based solutions.
