Estimator in West Palm

Job Description

R & D Paving, an asphalt and site work contractor in West Palm Beach, is currently seeking an estimator for roads, highway and commercial site construction. The candidate should possess an understanding of contractual requirements, conceptual estimating, design drawings, and project specifications. The candidate should be able to understand risk assessment analysis and have proven estimating background Experience with handling South Florida county, city and state contracts are a plus

• Interpret project documents to prepare clear, complete and competitive estimates, general conditions, and bid packages
• Contact subcontractors, suppliers, and specialty services for quotes
• Assemble bid and required documents accurately and timely
• Manages multiple projects concurrently
• Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors
• Communicate effectively with trade partners and team members regarding new and current projects
• Develop and maintain business relationships to increase bid opportunities in the private market.
• Promote paving services to commercial, industrial, private and development contractors.

• 5+ years’ experience in construction estimating required
• Ability to independently produce conceptual estimates
• Ability to read civil plans and develop cost estimates
• Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
• Ability to visualize a project from conception to completion
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams

Compensation based on experience.
