As our company continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Millwork & Cabinetry Estimator to join our team and play a key role in the successful execution of our projects.
Position SummaryThe Millwork & Cabinetry Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, and specialty woodworking projects. This individual will review architectural drawings, interior design plans, and project specifications to develop detailed estimates, material takeoffs, budgets, and proposals.
In addition to estimating responsibilities, this position will oversee the drafting process, coordinate with third-party drafting resources when necessary, review shop drawings and work closely with project management, purchasing, production, and clients throughout the preconstruction process.
Primary Responsibilities- Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for custom cabinetry and architectural millwork projects.
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, finish schedules, and interior design documents.
- Perform complete material takeoffs and quantity surveys.
- Develop budgets, proposals, and bid packages.
- Analyze project scope and identify value-engineering opportunities.
- Coordinate with project managers, purchasing, production, and field personnel.
- Lead the estimating and drafting process for cabinetry and casework projects.
- Coordinate and review work completed by third-party drafting vendors.
- Review and approve shop drawings prior to client submission.
- Manage drawing revisions and approval processes with architects, designers, builders, and homeowners.
- Maintain project documentation within company ERP/CRM systems.
- Participate in project turnover meetings after award.
- Assist management with estimating procedures and continuous process improvements.
Minimum 3–5 years of estimating experience in custom millwork, cabinetry, woodworking, or architectural millwork.
Strong understanding of residential construction methods.
Ability to read architectural, structural, and interior design drawings.
Experience preparing detailed material takeoffs and cost estimates.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication and client service skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
