Position: Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, Old Testament

Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA) invites applications and nominations for a visionary and mission-driven leader to serve as Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Old Testament. This role offers the opportunity to shape theological education through classroom engagement by preparing students for faithful service in the church and world.

Responsibilities

Located in vibrant West Palm Beach, PBA is a Christ-first university committed to equipping students to grow in wisdom, lead with conviction and serve God boldly. The School of Ministry is a dynamic community of scholars and practitioners dedicated to equipping students for ministry, missions, and leadership in diverse contexts.

The Role

The successful candidate will bring a deep commitment to Christian higher education, a passion for Old Testament scholarship, and a dedication to excellence in teaching and service. Faculty members are expected to engage in research and scholarly activities, participate actively on school and university-assigned committees, serve as faculty advisors, and contribute meaningfully to the broader university community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participates actively in professional organizations related to the discipline.
  • Teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Old Testament and related disciplines.
  • Mentors students in academic, professional, and spiritual formation.
  • Conducts research and/or scholarly activity resulting in publications or presentations.
  • Serves on school and university committees and task forces, as assigned.
  • Attends faculty meetings, faculty development programs, and other school functions.
  • Assists with faculty recruitment and student applicant interviews.
  • Represents the School of Ministry at university and external functions.
  • Performs other duties in service to the school or university, as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Old Testament, required.
  • Ordination and congregational ministry experience is preferred.
  • Must have a proven record of effective teaching, scholarly engagement, and academic leadership.
  • Proven interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Requires a commitment to the integration of faith and learning.
  • Alignment with the World Evangelical Alliance Statement of Faith is required.
