Job Summary

Alpha employs AI‑adaptive applications to deliver independent learning. Your role creates small‑group reading workshops (20 minutes) based on real‑time data, leads daily motivation sessions to drive 100% of students toward weekly app targets using Alpha’s motivational framework, and immediately recalibrates instruction when a phonemic deficit is identified. You will field parent inquiries with specific data‑based answers, conduct running records, fluency probes, and decoding assessments, and influence school‑wide instruction through your diagnostic precision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create small‑group K‑2 reading workshops derived from live adaptive‑app data, anchored in structured‑literacy approaches.
  • Conduct daily motivation sessions that ensure 100% of students reach their weekly app targets via Alpha’s system.
  • Analyze AI‑generated performance metrics to modify instruction in real time.
  • Conduct running records, fluency probes, and decoding assessments to generate measurable progress.
  • Serve as an engaging, high‑energy adult who students anticipate seeing daily.
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Implement a published reading curriculum or scripted program; you develop lessons directly from performance data.
  • Deliver lectures to whole classrooms; instruction occurs in small, targeted groups.
  • Serve as a reading consultant or instructional coach; you work in the classroom each day.
  • Manage a conventional schedule with subject‑by‑subject lectures, homework correction, or test preparation.
  • Draft IEPs, 504 plans, or formal diagnostic evaluations; documentation occurs in app data and running records.
Basic Requirements
  • Structured‑literacy certification (Orton‑Gillingham, LETRS, Wilson, IMSE, CERI, Neuhaus, UFLI, or equivalent) OR a Master’s degree in reading instruction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, plus 2+ years of full‑time K‑2 structured reading instruction in the past 5 years.
  • Proven capacity to develop original reading lessons and explain instructional content without a published program.
  • Commitment to work in person full‑time at one Alpha campus (see list above, relocation assistance available).
  • Commitment to instruct all K‑2 students, integrating AI and adaptive‑learning technologies.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
Nice‑to‑Have Requirements
  • Experience with AI‑powered or adaptive reading platforms (e.g., Amira, Lexia, i‑Ready, Reading Plus).
  • Documented reading outcomes with quantitative data (fluency gains, accuracy improvements, decoding progression).
  • Familiarity with diagnostic assessments (DRA, DIBELS, AIMSweb).
  • Experience in high‑accountability educational settings (independent schools, elite charter networks, premium tutoring).
  • Background in performance or youth sports coaching, or other contexts engaging K‑2 audiences beyond traditional reading instruction.
Compensation & Application

Compensation: $60 USD/hour ($120,000 per year assuming 40 hours per week, 50 weeks). Payment is weekly. The position is full‑time (40 hours per week) and requires an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as Contractor of Record.

Next steps:
Submit a brief video recording of an engaging story for young children and attend a full day on campus working directly with K‑2 students.
