Overview
On-site at an Alpha campus in New York City, NY;
Miami, FL; or San Francisco, CA — relocation assistance available. On-site employment with a traditional elementary school model replaced by Alpha’s two-hour instructional model. Alpha operates on a two-hour instructional model where morning academics are handled by adaptive software, freeing time for coaching and life-skill development. You directly oversee a cohort of K-3 students while coaching the Guides who mentor and inspire the children.
You remain actively involved daily, not remotely from an office.
Salary: $200,000 annual
Employment:
Full-time position
- Coaching both Guides and students through performance metrics, classroom visits, and direct feedback, ensuring accountability to quantifiable objectives
- Leading one-hour interactive workshops for K-3 students covering life skills including public speaking, concentration, teamwork, perseverance, accountability, and feedback exchange
- Conducting one-on-one and small-group motivational sessions that connect each child’s goals and interests to tangible academic achievement
- Creating and iterating on playbooks that convert your effective methods into reproducible systems for other Guides to implement
- Training Guides on these playbooks and demonstrating excellence in facilitation to maintain quality standards as the team expands
- Teaching academic content or presenting lectures from the front of the classroom; adaptive technology handles instruction while you coach people
- Reducing expectations when a student encounters difficulty
- Managing from afar the way traditional instructional coaches operate; you remain embedded daily with your own cohort
- Managing the entire campus budget, operations, and parent communications; a Campus Lead handles those responsibilities so you can focus on student and Guide results
- Advocating for traditional pedagogical methods or adhering to a standard K-12 curriculum
