Overview
This is a full-time, on-site Student Success Coach role at Alpha School, with relocation assistance. Compensation is $120,000 annual W2 salary with weekly pay; full health, dental, and vision coverage starting day one. On-site at Alpha campuses in multiple locations:

This is not a teaching role. It is a motivation role.
Responsibilities- Facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops for K-8 groups, modifying the existing framework and creating new sessions when you identify a need
- Conducting daily individual and small-group motivation sessions to drive weekly app targets, leveraging analytics and school systems, and building personal connections with each student
- Delivering Alpha’s mastery assessment (Test2
Pass) for each life skill and providing ongoing coaching until mastery is achieved - Adjusting coaching approaches across a broad age range from kindergarteners to eighth graders, balancing high-energy activities with direct communication and accountability
- Analyzing weekly cohort performance data, identifying students behind targets, and adapting coaching tactics for the following week
- Delivering traditional board-based lectures; content is embedded in the applications
- Creating an entire curriculum without guidance
- Passive monitoring of students at workstations; motivation should be dynamic and individualized
- Working through administrative approval processes to secure support for struggling students; you will decide and implement coaching as needed
- Evaluating homework or handling routine parent correspondence;

Portland, OR (relocation support offered) - Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
- Minimum 3 years of direct experience working with K-8 students (teaching, coaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or youth program management)
- Ability to articulate a concrete example of motivating a K-8 student toward a challenging objective, including objective, actions, and result
- Comfort allowing AI to deliver instructional content while focusing on motivation and life-skills development
- Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
- Background in youth sports coaching, debate, camp leadership, theater, or after-school programming with direct responsibility for motivating children toward defined objectives
- History of personal excellence (academic, athletic, or professional) indicating a high standard-based approach
- Strong communication and presentation skills capable of engaging 12-year-olds for an hour without relying on volume
- Proven ability to transform unengaged or resistant students into active, motivated participants

Working with UsThis is a full-time (40 hours per week) position. The role is offered under an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as Contractor of Record.
