Job Description
Applicants to administrative positions such as Assistant Principal, Principal, Single School Culture Coordinator, Specialist, Director, etc., must submit a resume and cover letter.
Applicant Eligibility andApplication Requirements
To be considered for a District Principal or Assistant Principal position, applicants must submit the required documentation before applying online. Failure to provide the documents may result in not being selected for an interview.
For Principal Candidates:
- Updated Resume
- Copy of your final evaluations as a principal for the last three years (must have a rating of highly effective or effective)
- Copy of your valid Florida Educator Certificate with School Principal listed under the coverage area
- If applying outside Florida, a copy of response letter from the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) adding Educational Leadership with School Principal listed under the coverage area
- Proof of completing a principal preparation program from your district or state
For Assistant Principal Candidates:
- Updated Resume
- Copy of your final evaluations as an assistant principal for the last three years (must have a rating of highly effective or effective)
- Copy of your valid Florida Educator Certificate with Educational Leadership listed under the coverage area
- If applying outside Florida, a copy of response letter from FLDOE adding Educational Leadership listed under the coverage area
- Proof of completing an assistant principal preparation program
- Experience mentoring or coaching teachers
- Reading or Math Coach, SSCC, or Department Chair (DIL) within the last 2 years
- Demonstrated experience with leading Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
- Demonstrated leading professional development for adults, staff, or teachers
- Implemented a school-wide initiative within the last 2 years that improved outcomes for students
- Elementary experience within the last 2 years
- Follows adopted policies and procedures in accordance with School Board priorities
- Conducts oneself in the best interest of students, in accordance with the highest traditions of public education and in support of the District's Mission Statement
- Performs other duties as assigned
