On‑campus position at one of the following locations:
Beverly Hills, La Jolla (San Diego), Lake Forest (Orange County), Piedmont, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, Greenwich (CT), Boca Raton (FL), Chicago (IL), Boston (MA), or New York City (NY). Relocation assistance is available. 40 hours per week, 100% classroom‑based with K‑3 students.
You will develop and deliver small‑group K‑3 reading workshops based on real‑time adaptive‑app data, using structured‑literacy approaches such as Orton‑Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, IMSE, or equivalent. Instruction is 20‑minute workshops, supplemented by daily motivation sessions ensuring 100% of students reach their weekly app targets via Alpha’s motivational framework. You will analyze AI‑generated performance data—including fluency curves, decoding accuracy, and comprehension signal—to adjust instruction on the spot.
You will also deliver running records, fluency probes, and decoding assessments to generate measurable gains. Your presence should be high‑energy and engaging; students look forward to seeing you each day.
- Create data‑driven small‑group workshops for K‑3 students.
- Conduct daily motivation sessions to ensure target achievement.
- Analyze adaptive app data and adjust instruction during the day.
- Deliver running records, fluency probes, and decoding assessments.
- Field parent questions about student progress and provide evidence‑based responses.
- Implementing a published curriculum, scripted program, or district pacing calendar.
- Delivering lectures to a full classroom; all instruction occurs in small, targeted groups.
- Serving as a reading consultant, coach, or district‑level specialist outside the classroom.
- Running a traditional classroom schedule with homework review or test preparation.
- Preparing IEPs, 504 plans, or formal diagnostic reports; student progress is captured in app data.
- Structured‑literacy certification (Orton‑Gillingham, LETRS, Wilson, IMSE, CERI, Neuhaus, UFLI, or equivalent) or a master’s degree in reading instruction.
- Bachelor’s degree in any field plus at least 2 years of full‑time K‑3 structured reading instruction in a school or clinical environment within the last 5 years.
- Proven ability to create independent lessons and explain instruction without reliance on a published program.
- Commitment to work on campus full time at one of the listed locations. Relocation assistance is available.
- Willingness to work with all K‑3 students (not exclusively struggling readers) and integrate AI and adaptive‑learning tools.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
- Experience with AI‑powered or adaptive reading platforms (e.g., Amira, Lexia, i‑Ready, Reading Plus) for lesson planning or data interpretation.
- Documented history of measurable reading outcomes (fluency gains, accuracy improvement, decoding level advancement) that can be quantified.
- Familiarity with diagnostic reading assessments (DRA, DIBELS, AIMSweb) for creating differentiated groups.
- Experience in high‑accountability educational settings (elite charter, premium tutoring, etc.).
- Background in engaging a K‑3 audience outside the classroom (sports coaching, performing arts, etc.).
- Full‑time, 40 hours per week, immediate availability.
- Independent contractor agreement with Crossover as Contractor of Record.
- Hourly rate of $60, equivalent to $120,000 per year for 40 weeks per year.
