The Full-time Faculty facilitates meaningful learning of the program and course competencies while proactively supporting allfacets of the learning environment adhering to South University’smission and CACREP standards. The Full-time Faculty provideseducation through learning-centered instruction that will enablegraduates to fulfill the evolving needs of the marketplace. The Full-time Faculty encourages a culture of learning that valuesmutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning and ethics aswell as personal and professional development.
Incumbent mustensure that the South University philosophy is considered in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position:quality services to clients; development, growth, involvement, and recognition of employees; sound economic principles; and maintenance of an environment which is conducive to innovation,positive thinking and expansion.
- Provides competency-based education which aligns with the South University model of curricula as well as supports the South University style of system delivery in keeping with CACREPstandards.
- Instructs the equivalent of 4 courses per quarter which can bea combination of didactic courses, tutoring, managing comprehensiveexams, practicum/internship supervision, or other activities deemed appropriate by the Program Director and/or Department Chair.
- Designs and delivers class instruction through the development of instructional plans to meet course competencies, to createactivities which support lesson objectives, and to deliver theinstruction as approved.
- Enables the achievement of pre-described exit competencies for student achievement and evaluation of learning by providing instruction which fosters competencies and establishes student performance criteria and evaluation.
- Delivers learning-centered instruction by establishing aclassroom environment conducive to learning and student involvementas well as effectively planning and preparing for classes and student success.
- Promotes student success by showing flexibility in style andwork schedule as well as exhibiting a passion for teaching and students and engaging students in the learning process.
- Collects data for Key Performance Indicator assignments,submits quarterly student evaluation forms for all students, and participates in formal evaluation of students as indicated in the Graduate Student Handbook.
- Participates in faculty development each year as required.
- Manages the learning environment through keeping accurate records, submitting grades, syllabi, final exams, and other reportson time, and enforcing school/campus academic and attendance policies.
- Contributes to a learning culture by participating oncurriculum and system task forces, supporting local campus events such as orientation and graduation, and participating in various other workshops and meetings.
