JLRD is seeking a Plumbing Designer to support plumbing system design and documentation for Education, Government & Public Institutions, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Transportation & Aviation Infrastructure, Industrial, Utilities & Infrastructure, Hospitality, Leisure & Destination Properties, Commercial & Mixed-Use, and Residential Facilities. This role is ideal for an experienced designer who brings strong drafting skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of plumbing systems—without requiring an engineering degree.
The position is in-office at JLRD’s West Palm Beach headquarters and works under the direction of licensed engineers.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare plumbing drawings and documentation for systems, including but not limited to:
- Sanitary and waste systems
- Domestic water systems
- Storm drainage
- Acid Waste
- Compressed Air
- Medical gas systems (as applicable)
- Develop design layouts, riser diagrams, schedules, and details
- Coordinate drawings with other disciplines to support constructability and clarity
- Assist with code research and system layouts under engineer direction
- Support construction administration tasks with drawing revisions
- Maintain drawing standards and adhere to internal QA/QC procedures
- Incorporate markups and revisions efficiently and accurately
- Technical or design background in plumbing systems; CPD or engineering degree preferred but not required.
- Experience supporting plumbing design for Education, Government & Public Institutions, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Transportation & Aviation Infrastructure, Industrial, Utilities & Infrastructure, Hospitality, Leisure & Destination Properties, Commercial & Mixed-Use, and Residential Facilities.
- Familiarity with applicable plumbing codes and standards
- Experience with medical gas systems is a plus
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively in an in-office setting
