JLRD is seeking an Electrical Designer to support electrical system design and documentation for Education, Government & Public Institutions, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Transportation & Aviation Infrastructure, Industrial, Utilities & Infrastructure, Hospitality, Leisure & Destination Properties, Commercial & Mixed-Use, and Residential Facilities.
This role is ideal for an experienced designer who brings strong modeling and drafting skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of electrical systems—without requiring an engineering degree.
The position is in-office at JLRD’s West Palm Beach headquarters and reports to licensed engineers.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare electrical drawings and supporting documentation, including but not limited to:
Lighting, Power, and Systems layout and design, Enlarged room layouts, Panel schedules and riser diagrams, Details and Schedules, Branch Circuit wiring, Fire Alarm, Security, CCTV,Telecommunications - Coordinate drawings with other disciplines to support constructability and clarity
- Incorporate markups and revisions efficiently and accurately
- Assist with code research and system layouts under engineer direction
- Support construction administration tasks with drawing revisions
- Maintain drawing standards and adhere to internal QA/QC procedures
- Overnight travel and the ability to conduct site visits are required.
- Technical or design background in electrical systems
- Experience supporting electrical design for complex facilities across the sectors listed above
- Familiarity with applicable electrical codes and standards
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively in an in-office setting
