Job Description
We are seeking a Part-time/On Call Civil Engineering Discipline Lead II to join our organization in West Palm Beach, United States. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee the civil engineering discipline, driving technical excellence, mentoring talented engineers, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with proven leadership capabilities, demonstrating a commitment to innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
* Lead and mentor a team of civil engineers, fostering professional development and creating a collaborative work environment
* Oversee the technical quality and compliance of civil engineering designs, ensuring adherence to industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements
* Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for discipline-specific initiatives
* Develop and implement engineering standards, best practices, and standard operating procedures
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including structural, mechanical, and environmental disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery
* Provide technical guidance and expertise on complex engineering challenges and design solutions
* Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and innovation within the discipline
* Represent the civil engineering discipline in client meetings and stakeholder communications
* Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends in civil engineering
Qualifications
Required
Skills and Experience:
* 10+ years of professional experience in civil engineering design and project delivery
* 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience managing engineering teams
* Proficiency with civil engineering software including AutoCAD, BIM tools, and design analysis programs
* Strong project management capabilities with demonstrated ability to deliver projects on schedule and within budget
* Comprehensive knowledge of civil engineering codes, standards, and regulatory compliance requirements
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and motivate teams
* Analytical and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving and decision-making
* Proficiency in budget management and resource planning
Preferred
Skills and Experience:
* Experience with infrastructure, transportation, or large-scale construction projects
* Demonstrated mentoring and coaching experience
* Knowledge of advanced engineering software and emerging technologies
* Experience with stakeholder management and client relations
* Strategic planning and organizational development experience
* Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools
* Experience in a matrix or multi-disciplinary organization
