Project Coordinator

Position: Project Coordinator I
This position is responsible for assisting in the training and supervision of Technical Assistant II and Technical Assistant III. Work involves the review of water and sewer projects and coordination to ensure compliance with sound engineering practices and Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department's Minimum Design and Construction Standards. Assists in the development and updates to the Minimum Design and Construction Standards.

A pplies engineering principles and techniques to engineering projects of a public works nature. Work is performed with considerable independent judgment, discretion, and initiative to ensure development coordination, productivity improvement, and quality control. Receives assignments in specific or general terms from an engineering superior.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering,

OR

• A related Bachelor's Degree; minimum of one (1) year of experience in professional engineering or water/wastewater engineering,

OR

• An unrelated Bachelor's Degree/related Associate's Degree; minimum of two (2) years of experience in professional engineering or water/wastewater engineering,

OR

• Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of four (4) years of experience in professional engineering or water/wastewater engineering.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience in underground utilities drafting/construction ,

• Experience working with local, County, and/or state utilities ,

• Land development/surveying principles experience ,

• Experience using Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) , and

• Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification.
