This entry-level Environmental Engineering position with Florida's Department of Environmental Protection, located in West Palm Beach, supports the Southeast District's compliance, permitting, and outreach mission. The role conducts engineering inspections and site visits at regulated facilities, provides technical assistance and training to both industry and staff, reviews permit applications and documents, and coordinates compliance assistance efforts to increase regulatory adherence.
Key qualifications:- Knowledge of environmental sciences principles and analytical techniques
- Ability to conduct field inspections and technical evaluations of regulated facilities
- Skill in reviewing and processing permit applications and engineering documents
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with diverse stakeholders
- Proficiency in computer operations and data management systems
- Ability to work independently and organize training and compliance initiatives
