CACTI Park of The Palm Beaches is the Spring Training and minor league player development home of the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals. The 160‑acre complex in West Palm Beach, Florida features a main stadium, 12 full‑sized and 2 half‑sized baseball fields, grass parking, three lakes, and extensive landscape. It hosts over 100 events a year, including baseball, sporting events, community gatherings, weddings, festivals, concerts, and more.

Overview

As a member of the Stadium Operations and Events supervisory team, the Senior Coordinator, Operations and Events will play a critical role in delivering world‑class guest experiences and overseeing the venue during all Spring Training games and events. The role includes responsibility for both gameday operations and event support, ensuring the facility remains show‑ready, managing staff, and interacting with event organizers and vendors.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead the hiring process for Stadium Operations interns, overseeing scheduling, task assignment, and quality assurance.
  • Lead the annual part‑time gameday operations hiring process, coordinating with HR, reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and hosting ballpark job fairs.
  • Supervise part‑time gameday and event operations staff, focusing on training and maintaining ballpark policies and standards.
  • Assist venue leadership with gameday operations, monitoring compliance, safety, and guest and staff behavior.
  • Collaborate with all facility departments to keep the venue show‑ready in‑season and off‑season.
  • Analyze, facilitate, and resolve issues during gamedays or events, notifying management when necessary, and ensuring proper closeout and incident reporting.
  • Perform necessary opening and closing procedures.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date best practices on safety and security for all venue visitors.
  • Communicate directly with event organizers and vendors regarding scheduling and logistics.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day event support for security, parking, cleaning, concession operational, and way finding.
  • Participate in facility repairs, maintenance, cleaning, and general projects as needed.
  • Assist management with event contract development, informational memos, invoices, and proformas.
  • Maintain consistent communication with the AGM/Director, Ballpark Operations, and the Operations team.
  • Provide superior customer service via written, phone, and face‑to‑face communication in response to guest issues.
  • Show initiative and work independently.
  • Work irregular/extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum two years of customer‑service, hospitality, or event work experience required.
  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience in a customer‑service environment preferred.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with staff and third parties.
  • Excellent time‑management and organizational skills; assist management in directing work activities for gameday and event staff.
  • A passion for working with and helping people.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude while handling difficult situations.
  • Intermediate PC application knowledge.
  • Local resident or willing to relocate.
Supervisory Responsibility

During spring training, the position supervises part‑time gameday staff. Beyond spring training, the role involves coordinating and managing events and supervising certain gameday employees, including operations interns, and participating in their hiring.

Work Environment

The job is performed in an office and event setting, using standard office equipment. Noise levels are generally moderate but can be loud in the stadium environment.

Physical Demands

The position requires close vision, the ability to work at a high‑activity, crowded outdoor venue in all weather extremes for extended periods, standing for long periods, walking long distances, climbing up/downstairs or ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and occasionally lifting or moving items up to 25 lbs.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Flexible schedule including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Travel

Rare travel may be required.
