Fiscal Manager

Highly responsible, professional accounting and administrative work directing financial activities for the Department. Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, County, and municipal requirements as they relate to various fiscal activities. Supervises and directs the collection, interpretation, recording, and distribution of financial records and reports. Maintains the financial aspects of the Department's Capital Improvement Reporting System and reconciles amounts with the County Advantage System.

Specific duties include:
Calculating and entering project budgets; identifying funding sources for new projects; encumbering contracts in Advantage; closing out projects and complying with reporting requirements for County Fixed Assets and the annual financial audit. Manages the delivery of asset management plans that implement the asset management strategy and deliver the asset management objectives. Exercises independent judgment in performing various financial analyses.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or closely related field; minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, including considerable experience in general management AND supervisory work,

OR

• A Related Master's Degree OR current Certified Public Accountant (CPA)/Certified Internal Auditor certification (CIA) (copy of Certification must be uploaded to online application by 5:00 P.M. on the closing date); minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, including considerable experience in general management AND supervisory work,

OR

• An unrelated Bachelor's Degree/related Associate's Degree; minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, including considerable experience in general management AND supervisory work,

OR

• Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, including considerable experience in general management AND supervisory work.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications include
:

• One (1) year of experience with government or commercial utility, and

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
