Seeking a Post-Merger Integration (PMI) Senior Associate. The Senior Associate will work with M&A, Finance, IT and Sales Teams. This is a high-impact, visible opportunity to work directly with executive leadership to standardize, institutionalize, and elevate accounting across a multi-entity platform. This role is designed for a technical expert who thrives in the fast-paced environment of business combinations and post-acquisition synergy.

duties include but are not limited to:
  • Execute general ledger mapping and data migration to smoothly transition acquired financials into the corporate ERP system.
  • Support purchase accounting and valuation by assisting with ASC 805 analyses, fair value assessments, and post-close balance sheet adjustments.
  • Update and maintain accounting policies to ensure standardized financial reporting across new business units and entities.
  • Prepare and review balance sheets for entity openings and closings, verifying underlying assumptions and posting necessary adjustments.
  • Perform and document process walkthroughs across accounting cycles; design and implement SOPs and close templates.
  • Execute the monthly consolidation process and perform variance analysis to identify and explain key operational drivers.
  • Partner with leadership on working capital analysis and post-acquisition adjustments.
  • Act as the primary liaison for external auditors regarding technical memos and M&A-related disclosures to ensure streamlined quarterly and year-end reporting.
  • Draft technical accounting memos, policies, and financial statement footnotes from the ground up.
What is required:
  • Big 4 CPA or National CPA firm experience is required (Audit or Advisory background), CPA Required.
  • Must be able to travel up to 30% at peak times.
  • 4-5 years of progressive experience, with a heavy emphasis on Public Accounting (Audit) and Technical Accounting roles within a corporate environment.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise in US GAAP, specifically (ASC 805:
    Business Combinations, ASC 350:
    Intangibles—Goodwill and Other, ASC 820:
    Fair Value Measurement, ASC 740: Income Taxes, ASC 606: Revenue from Contracts with Customers, ASC 718: Stock Compensation).
  • Experience performing detailed process walkthroughs (SOX-style or similar) and building accounting infrastructure from scratch.
  • Experience with general ledger mapping, chart of accounts standardization, and integrating disparate financial systems during a merger.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in high-growth, ambiguous environments (startup or PE-backed strongly preferred).
