Senior Director, Wealth Manager
OverviewThe Senior Director, Wealth Manager is reserved for those who have demonstrated mastery of the function and achieved the performance standards set by the National Head of Wealth Management US Markets. Nominees for the Level S role are proposed by a Regional President and reviewed/approved by the National Head of US Markets and the CEO of Wealth Management.
Key Responsibilities- Articulation of BNY Mellon Wealth Management’s Active Wealth framework and implementation of the firm’s best investment thinking.
- Adoption of BNYM’s digital and client service tools (Wealth Online, Net Worth Statements, Advice Path, etc.).
- Analysing client balance sheets for unrealised opportunities and optimisation.
- Collaborating with and leveraging expertise from other functional team members and BNYM investment professionals to provide all firm capabilities to clients.
- Managing large and complex client relationships with a dedicated, high‑performing support team (Associate Wealth Manager and Analyst).
Frequent proactive interaction with clients, including multiple in‑person client meetings per year. Serve as the client’s primary point of contact to BNYM and ensure that all firm resources are available to clients using the Active Wealth framework.
Business Development (55%)Demonstrate a business‑development orientation and mindset. Set and meet annual self‑sourced goals, leveraging strong existing client and influence relationships by consistently and systematically asking for referrals. Modify activities based upon local regulations and requirements.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (Advanced/graduate degree preferred).
- 15+ years of financial industry experience, preferably managing larger, more complex client relationships.
- Demonstrable experience and network within the high‑net‑worth client space and with advisors who support this level of sophisticated clients (T&E attorneys, M&A attorneys, corporate attorneys, HNW CPAs).
- Experience working in a highly detail‑oriented and fast‑paced environment.
- Strong technological proficiency and adoption of the firm’s digital tools.
- Additional industry designations and certifications are a plus (CFP, CFA, etc.).
- Self‑sourced AUM and Private Banking Deposit/Loan goals; may serve on national/regional investment or practice group committees.
