Job Summary

The Medical Assistant (MA) supports orthopedic physicians and advanced practice providers in delivering high-quality patient care within a fast-paced orthopedic group. This role combines clinical and administrative responsibilities, assisting with patient flow, procedures, documentation, and overall clinic efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs, medical history, and reason for visit
• Prepare patients for orthopedic examinations and procedures
• Assist providers with in-office procedures (e.g., joint injections, casting, splinting, suture removal)
• Apply and remove casts, braces, splints, and durable medical equipment (DME) as directed
• Perform wound care and dressing changes
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and maintain exam room readiness
• Administer medications and injections per provider order and scope of practice
• Document patient encounters accurately in the EMR system
• Provide patient education on post-procedure care, rehabilitation instructions, and medication usage

Qualifications

• School Certification as a Medical Assistant (MA) is required
• Phlebotomy/Blood Draw experience is required
• Strong patient-facing skills
• Detail oriented / must be regimented in processes

Skills

• Epic proficiency preferred
• Orthopedic experience highly preferred

Schedule/Shift

Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
