Overview
Department:
Palm Beach County Employee Assistance Program (EAP);
Reports to:
EAP Program Manager;
Location:
West Palm Beach, FL;
Schedule:
Part-Time (20 hours/week), flexible scheduling available.
Position Summary: The Licensed Clinical Staff member provides confidential, short-term counseling, assessment, referral, and follow-up services to County employees and their eligible family members. This role supports the EAP’s mission to enhance employee well-being, workplace productivity, and organizational health through professional, compassionate, and solution-focused services.
Responsibilities- Provide individual, couples, and family counseling for a variety of personal and work-related concerns (e.g., stress, mental health, grief, substance use, relationship challenges).
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop action plans for client needs.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Deliver psycho educational workshops, trainings, and presentations on wellness, mental health, and workplace topics.
- Collaborate with County departments to address workplace concerns and promote employee well-being.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with federal, state, and County guidelines.
- Stay current with professional licensing requirements and continuing education.
Required:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or related field.
- Current Florida license in good standing (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years post-licensure clinical experience, preferably in an EAP, counseling center, or workplace setting.
- Strong skills in assessment, short-term counseling, and crisis intervention.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health records systems.
Preferred:
- Experience with organizational consultation, conflict resolution, and workplace interventions.
- Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) designation
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) highly desirable.
