When a guest walks into our rooms, our goal is to create a home away from home—every detail in its place, from crisp linens to perfectly placed pillows. As a hotel housekeeper, your contribution helps ensure guests enjoy an enjoyable and comfortable stay, which in turn helps create loyal customers.
Responsibilities- Organize, confirm, and process guest check-in/check-outs and adapt for any changes; verify guest identity.
- Respond to and resolve guest requests.
- Secure payments, verify and adjust billing as needed.
- Provide guests with room and hotel information, directions, amenities, and local interests.
- Run daily reports and communicate with the next shift’s staff as needed.
- Complete cashier and closing reports; count the bank at the end of each shift securely.
- Accept and record wake-up calls, delivering to the appropriate department.
- Maintain confidentiality of all guests and proprietary information.
- Communicate any emergency, lost item, or theft to proper staff and/or authorities.
- Report maintenance problems, accidents, and safety hazards.
- Keep contingency lists for emergencies and communicate necessary messages.
- Protect company assets and comply with quality assurance expectations.
- A professional demeanor; a warm and welcoming personality able to engage with others.
- Compassion and a genuine desire to understand guests.
- Ability to create confidence and trust and communicate appropriately.
- Comfortable engaging with people from diverse backgrounds and at all organizational levels.
- Direct yet tactful communication; clear and professional language; proper telephone etiquette.
- Awareness of undesired individuals on premises; clean, professional appearance.
- Willingness to perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
The hotel housekeeper role requires standing for long periods, reading and visually verifying information, and manipulating objects of varying size and weight. Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
