GIS Analyst - LIDAR

We are seeking a GIS Analyst for the LIDAR focus within our Geospatial Division in the Huntsville, AL, or West Palm Beach, FL offices.

Position Overview:

The candidate will be engaged in a career‑building opportunity while performing precise work that requires strong analytical and reasoning abilities at a rapid pace. Responsibilities include collection, processing, and analysis of data from various remote sensing systems offered by WGI.

• Perform setup, collection, processing, and QA of geospatial sensor‑derived data (e.g., LiDAR, aerial imagery)
• Troubleshoot and resolve routine LiDAR data processing issues
• Troubleshoot and resolve routine LiDAR collection equipment issues, including GNSS systems and IMUs
• Develop efficient workflows for training new associates
• Help set up data management strategies to ensure proper infrastructure and data policies for active data storage and archiving
• Apply strong knowledge of GIS concepts related to coordinate systems and projections
• Adhere to safety and information security policy
• Travel out of town/state as required; meal per diem and lodging provided
• Work may require overtime, including after normal hours, late nights, and weekends as needed
• Work as a team member and independently
• Other duties as assigned

• DOD Skill Bridge Transitioning Service Members Only
• Associate’s degree required;
  Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Desire to learn new software, hardware, and methodologies while assisting the Geospatial department
• Strong problem‑solving skills and teamwork orientation; experience with DOT specifications and deliverables preferred
• Ability to understand 3D surface modeling and 3D visualization concepts
• Currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full‑time basis (no visa sponsorship available)
