Our prestigious law firm is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with experience in the legal industry, who is passionate about the law, and thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment. The successful candidate will play an instrumental role in supporting our legal team with complex litigation cases, and providing superior service to our clients.
Responsibilities:
As a Litigation Paralegal, you will be responsible for a range of duties including, but not limited to:
1. Assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, discovery, and trial preparation.
2. Conducting legal research, factual investigation, and document analysis.
3. Managing case files and maintaining case-related correspondence.
4. Coordinating and managing court deadlines, appointments, and schedules.
5. Liaising with clients, court officials, and other legal professionals in a professional manner.
6. Drafting legal documents including briefs, pleadings, appeals, agreements, contracts, and legal memoranda.
7. Assisting in the preparation of legal arguments, applications, declarations, and motions.
8. Preparing for and attending trials, hearings, and meetings, and taking notes, managing exhibits, and assisting with trial and deposition preparation.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Litigation Paralegal role should possess the following qualifications and competencies:
1. Experience as a Litigation Paralegal, preferably in a law firm setting.
2. A bachelor's degree in law, paralegal studies, or a related field. A paralegal certificate is highly desirable.
3. Proven experience in client relations, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
4. Strong knowledge of state and federal court rules, calendaring, e-filing, and procedural requirements.
5. Excellent research and report-writing skills, with proficiency in legal citation rules and legal terminology.
6. Exceptional organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
7. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research platforms such as Westlaw or Lexis Nexis.
