A-1 Balers & Compactors, a Waste Pro operation, is an industrial equipment repair and fabrication shop serving the waste and recycling industry. Our team repairs and fabricates containers, balers, compactors, chutes, and related equipment, while also performing welding, heavy-steel fabrication, hardware installation, equipment preparation, and painting. A-1 supports Waste Pro’s hauling, container, and equipment operations while also servicing customer-owned industrial waste equipment.
This is a hands-on administrative and inventory position that works closely with our technicians, managers, vendors, and operations team. You'll coordinate parts purchases, track inventory and deliveries, maintain fleet and maintenance records, assist with billing documentation, and make sure the shop has the information and materials it needs to get the job done.
Your Role:Purchasing | Parts | Inventory | Fleet Records | Billing & Administrative
- Request vendor quotes and coordinate the ordering of parts and shop materials.
- Create, track, and maintain purchase orders (POs) and accurate purchasing records.
- Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, delivery dates, backorders, returns, credits, and stocking levels.
- Track parts orders and follow up on delayed or partial deliveries.
- Receive parts, reconcile deliveries against purchase orders, and coordinate returns and core credits.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for parts, containers, compactors, trucks, and related equipment.
- Organize parts using Vehicle Maintenance Reporting Standards (VMRS) codes and maintain a clean, organized parts room.
- Perform inventory reconciliations and maintain documentation needed to support billing.
- Collect and review Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) and enter vehicle mileage and operating hours into the fleet management system.
- Maintain vehicle, preventive maintenance (PM), work order, invoice, and other maintenance records.
- Maintain purchasing activity and expense information in company reporting systems.
- Assemble, scan, and maintain invoices and supporting documentation needed for billing.
- Provide administrative support to the Office Manager and shop leadership.
- Assist with additional shop and administrative responsibilities as needed.

- Strong computer and data-entry skills are essential for this position.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and computer-based recordkeeping stems.
- Experience using fleet management, inventory, purchasing, maintenance, or similar business software is preferred.
- Ability and willingness to quickly learn company-specific software and systems.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to enter, track, and maintain accurate information.
- Experience with purchasing, inventory, parts, fleet maintenance, trucking, automotive, heavy equipment, warehousing, or industrial operations is preferred.
- Comfortable communicating with vendors and following up on quotes, orders, deliveries, backorders, and returns.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain purchasing, inventory, and maintenance records.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable, organized, and able to follow through on assignments with accuracy.
- Education:
High school diploma or GED required. - Experience:
At least 6 months of related work experience.
- Heavy equipment, trucks, machinery, and tools.
- Welding and fabrication activities.
- Dust, fumes, chemicals, and solvents associated with shop operations.
- Both indoor and outdoor work areas.
- Exposure to Florida weather and changing temperatures.
- Noise and vibration associated with trucks and maintenance operations
