Description
The Maintenance Technician (Entry-Level) supports the upkeep and appearance of the facility by performing routine maintenance tasks, groundskeeping duties, and pressure cleaning. This role is ideal for someone with basic experience in electrical and plumbing who is eager to learn and grow in a facilities environment. The technician will assist with general repairs, maintain outdoor areas, and ensure a clean and safe campus for staff, visitors, and clients.
Schedule:Wednesday through Sunday, 7am to 3:30pm.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Groundskeeping & Exterior Maintenance (Primary Focus)- Perform pressure cleaning of walkways, building exteriors, patios, sidewalks, and designated outdoor areas.
- Maintain outdoor grounds, including leaf blowing, trimming, debris removal, and general landscaping support.
- Inspect, clean, and maintain outdoor water fountains, ensuring proper function and appearance (removing debris, checking water levels, reporting malfunctions).
- Inspect exterior areas for hazards or cleanliness issues and report findings promptly.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down outdoor spaces for events, as needed.
- Complete basic building repairs such as replacing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, patching minor drywall damage, adjusting doors, and simple carpentry tasks.
- Assist with routine inspections of facility equipment and report abnormalities.
- Perform simple tasks such as resetting breakers, replacing switches/outlets under supervision, troubleshooting minor issues, and assisting licensed technicians when needed.
- Help with unclogging drains, fixing minor leaks, replacing faucet components, and assisting with water line checks under guidance.
- Maintain cleanliness in maintenance work areas and storage locations.
- Support custodial team with special projects when required.
- Oversee the care and maintenance of all equipment owned/rented by Hanley for the purpose of carrying out maintenance jobs.
- Uphold all Hanley Foundation Policies and Procedures.
- Maintain client/potential client confidentiality in accordance with Hanley Policy.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience in general maintenance, groundskeeping, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.
- Experience using pressure cleaning equipment (preferred).
- Ability to operate landscaping tools (blower, trimmer, mower).
- Trade Certification is preferred.
- Good understanding of OSHA and state facilities regulations and standards.
- Must produce and maintain a valid driver’s license and pass MVR requirements per policy.
- If in recovery, 1 year of continuous sobriety is required.
- Must be able to perform emergency functions during off duty hours as well as be on an on-call schedule to cover weekends and holidays. You will be required to clock in for these extra hours worked.
- General knowledge and basic skills in the areas of painting, plumbing, assembly, grounds maintenance and general electric.
- Should be able to read blueprints and schematics.
- High energy and self-motivated.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean and organized facility.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically able to lift 50 lbs., stand/walk for long periods, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to learn and grow in the maintenance field.
