HVAC - Facilities Maintenance Technician

Employee is responsible for understanding the Mission, Vision, Core Values, Employee Handbook and other school policies of Oxbridge Academy, ensuring the adherence of these policies in performance, action and self-conduct. Maintenance personnel perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs to ensure that all students, staff and community are provided with a safe, attractive, clean, and healthy environment for learning and work. Maintenance also includes facilitating construction, repair duties on HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, alarm, and other mechanical systems.

The Maintenance department performs structural and equipment repairs, preventive and routine maintenance work, and custodial work completing all work necessary to maintain the buildings and school grounds in excellent condition. This position reports to the Building Supervisor.

• Performs general maintenance and repair tasks in a variety of areas in accordance with all applicable codes and regulations
• Perform installation, maintenance, and repairs of HVAC systems (RTU, Water chiller AHU, split systems)
• Performs repairs and preventative maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis. Reports any abnormalities and hazards immediately
• Ensures that the work site and conditions are safe
• Responds to emergency situations and perform necessary repairs
• Keeps a log of all maintenance functions and repairs performed
• Ensures that all applicable fire, safety, health, and environmental regulations and laws are observed and exceeded
• Operates and maintains all tools and equipment necessary to carry out job functions and responsibilities in a safe and operational condition
• Notifies and assists the administration and appropriate emergency personnel with emergencies and potentially dangerous situations
• Participates in appropriate in-service and workshop programs and attends any required meetings
• Demonstrates ethical and professional behavior in working with students, parents and outside agencies associated with the school

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrate knowledge and a minimum of 3 years’ experience and proficiency in the maintenance field
• EPA Certified
• Building Automation knowledge is a plus but not required.
• Be able to communicate effectively
• Must be able to read and comprehend instructions in the English language and have the ability to write simple correspondence
• Able to meet the physical demands of the job
