Construction Project Manager
Sterling Organization (“Sterling”) is seeking a Construction Project Manager to be located in its corporate office in Palm Beach County. The Project Manager will report to the Vice President of Development and Construction and will be responsible for providing management and reporting of the company’s capital improvement projects including redevelopments, renovations, and tenant improvements.
Responsibilities- Oversee design professionals and other consultants associated with projects. Develop site plans, concept and construction drawings by coordinating between internal team members, design consultants, and tenant design managers.
- Review, comment, and budget tenant work letters.
- Procure permits and other entitlements required to complete assigned projects.
- Solicit budget pricing and/or bids for the company’s projects from general contractors, complete evaluative bid analysis, and assist in negotiating contract terms.
- Oversee construction projects including site inspections/meetings, ensuring budget and schedule issues are resolved, and reviewing/approving contractor pay applications and change orders. Deliver assigned projects within budget and in accordance with delivery deadlines.
- Provide regular reporting of project status, budgets, schedules, and potential issues.
- Maintain active network and relationships with consultants, contractors, clients, and public agencies across all of the regions and communities in which the company makes investments.
- 2-7 years of experience in development and/or construction management (retail experience with a general contractor is preferred but not required).
- Candidate must be a motivated, detail oriented, self‑directed problem solver that is willing to travel regularly.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with team members, consultants, contractors, clients and public agencies.
- Must be able to read and analyze construction drawings, prepare CPM schedules, and be comfortable reviewing land development and building codes.
- A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree (construction, engineering, real estate preferred).
