Operations Manager, Operations Engineer, Production Manager
About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Shift Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the facility during an assigned shift, including monitoring boilers, turbines, and the steam plant. The Shift Supervisor will routinely tour the plant and oversee the work of various personnel, operating within all applicable safety regulations, environmental limits, and permits. In the event of emergencies or unusual operations, the Shift Supervisor will, if necessary, direct or personally perform the required operations as well as coordinate the activities of all personnel involved.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a safe working environment for all personnel at the facility.
- Ensure all personnel adhere to all applicable policies and procedures and work safely and efficiently.
- Maintain the plant within all environmental limits and permits.
- Respond to emergencies, injuries, or accidents.
- Direct the completion of shifts, daily, weekly, and monthly checks.
- Approve requests for removing equipment from service for maintenance, ensuring equipment is properly cleared and tagged, and issue safety permits by plant procedures.
- Troubleshoot plant operational issues and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure optimal plant performance.
- Train and manage a motivated, cross‑trained workforce with the necessary skills.
- Five or more years of experience in power or resource recovery plant operations.
- Hands‑on experience with high‑pressure boilers and electrical generation; formal technical training is required.
- Must obtain and maintain an ASME QRO Provisional & Site‑Specific Operators license.
- Detailed knowledge of steam‑generating power stations and instrument/control systems.
- Ability to originate and monitor plant procedures and technical instructions.
- Strong troubleshooting, training, and logic‑diagram interpretation skills.
- Effective communication, leadership, and problem‑solving/decision‑making skills are essential.
- Must obtain and maintain an ASME QRO Shift Supervisor’s license.
- HS Diploma or equivalent GED required.
- Walk, stand, sit, and climb in various weather conditions.
- Lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Qualify to wear a full‑face respirator.
- Work from heights and in confined spaces.
- Wear Reworld‑required PPE for the job and assigned task.
- With close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Shift Supervisors work a rotating 12‑hour shift schedule that alternates between day and night shifts. Schedules include weekends, holidays, outage support, and vacation coverage.

The pay range for the primary location of this position is $99,000.00 – $ USD. For hourly roles, this is the annualized salary. To calculate the hourly rate, divide by 2080.
