About the Role
As a Back Plant Operator, you are responsible for the safe, environmentally sound and efficient daily operation of the process plant in assisting and supporting the operation to effectively maintain the power generation facility’s fuel feed.
Responsibilities- Operate heavy equipment such as front‑end loaders to feed RDF material onto fuel feed systems.
- Spot incoming waste trucks and direct dumping locations on the tipping floor.
- Assist with loading non‑ferrous metals into transport trailers.
- Work in the ash house, loading ash trucks and maintaining operation of ash house equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and an orderly work area.
- Perform daily routine pre‑operational inspections of heavy equipment and fuel feed conveyor equipment and fill out required log sheets.
- Perform checks as required by the weekly activities book, monthly critical item checklists, etc.
- Perform troubleshooting on equipment, reporting all malfunctions to the shift supervisor for work orders.
- Maintain proper fuel, lubricant, and oil levels for equipment operation.
- Perform lockout and tagout of equipment in support of maintenance activities.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the shift supervisor or designee.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- CDL Class B License required.
- Ability to work a rotating shift schedule.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to operate a front loader or heavy equipment.
- Walk, stand, sit, and climb.
- Lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- Work from heights and in confined spaces.
- Wearing a full‑face respirator as required.
- Consistently work in various weather conditions.
Rotating 12‑hour shifts, days and nights.
