Member Engagement Volunteer

Nonprofits First is a 501(c)(3) organization established by a coalition of public and private funders to strengthen the administrative and operational capacity of nonprofit organizations in Palm‑Beach County. It is a community where nonprofits achieve their highest level of success.

Nonprofits First is seeking a relationship‑focused volunteer to support our Membership Department through thoughtful, service‑oriented outreach. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys making calls, building rapport, and helping organizations feel supported and valued.

Your conversations help nonprofit leaders stay connected to resources that strengthen board governance, excellence in nonprofit management, and increase their mission's impact across our community.

• Make member anniversary and renewal calls
• Conduct at‑risk and win‑back outreach
• Assist with high‑level IRS Form 990 reviews (training provided)
• Capture notes and insights to support member success

(This is not a sales role—these are relationship‑based, mission‑driven conversations.)

• Experience in customer service, member or donor relations, sales, or business development
• Background in a service environment (banking, finance, professional services, nonprofit)
• Comfortable and confident on the phone
• Reliable, thoughtful, and people‑oriented
• Well‑suited for retired or semi‑retired professionals

• Access to nonprofit and business leaders across Palm‑Beach County
• Option to attend Nonprofits First educational programs and events
• Remote access to our phone system, email, and platforms
• Meaningful work that strengthens nonprofit effectiveness and accountability
