Associate Director, Community Relations

Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose community generates more than $30 million of impact each year in the Palm Beaches and 70 countries around the world. Its Palm Beach Center to Combat Antisemitism & Hatred focuses on strengthening safety and security and on building relationships beyond the Jewish community.

This position enhances the work of the Community Relations department across government affairs, combating antisemitism, education, and intergroup and interfaith relations. The Associate Director serves as primary relationship manager for an assigned community portfolio, initially including dedicated frontline coverage of Martin County, and reports to the Director of Community Relations.

Responsibilities:

• Help develop, plan, and manage programs that build relationships within and beyond the Jewish community, including educational programs, leadership initiatives, fellowships, and study tours
• Build and maintain relationships with clergy, educators, elected officials, business leaders, nonprofits, law enforcement, media, and civic leaders, and represent the Center at community meetings, coalitions, and task forces
• Support the Director in responding to antisemitic incidents through a crisis response and intervention plan
• Manage and engage volunteer leaders on the Community Relations Committee, including correspondence, agenda planning, and material preparation
• Correspond with elected officials, staff, and key leaders on domestic and international issues, with an emphasis on combating antisemitism and antizionism, and on Israel
• Participate fully in the Jewish Federations of North America Frontline Initiative, including trainings, national gatherings, and grant reporting

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with coursework in civic and community engagement, public affairs, or a related field required; master's or better preferred
• Two or more years of relevant experience in Jewish communal, nonprofit, or public sector work, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and skills
• Knowledge of current events, Israel, the Jewish world, and the political process at national, state, and local levels
• Strong knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Zoom, Claude, and basic database skills
• Excellent research, written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Must pass a Level 1 background check and be available for nights and weekends as needed
