- Graduate of an accredited or NLN‑approved RN program. BSN preferred.
- Current Florida state nursing license.
- Certification in area of specialty preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years experience in acute care specialty nursing. One (1) to three (3) years supervisory experience preferred.
- Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS and/or required specialty training or course completion (current upon hire) as required by specialty.
Assumes responsibility and accountability for coordinating the activities and providing clinical and administrative leadership and expertise in one or more defined areas of the facility. Coordinates multi‑disciplinary team members, directs and facilitates staff in obtaining safe, optimal health care outcomes. Supports activities that meet the facility vision, mission and goals. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. Understands that patient‑centered care provides the foundation for all nursing activities.
Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Recognizes the signs and symptoms of stroke and calling a stroke alert overhead. Verbalizes stroke alert process. Responds to ED and Inpatient stroke alerts. Assists with telemedicine consult and ED physician examination/evaluation of thrombolytic therapy inclusion/exclusion criteria, assists the ED and ICU nurse mixing and administration of thrombolytic therapy if patient deemed a candidate, preparation of patient for Endovascular treatment as indicated.
Maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing the NIHSS training and a minimum of 8 hours of stroke related training annually.
