Position: Registered Nurse (RN) CATH LAB- Full-Time Days

CATH LAB – Registered Nurse (RN) – Day Shift

This full‑time opportunity offers 40 hours per week, full benefits, and a convenient day shift schedule. There is an opportunity for overtime and to cover various shifts if interested.

Shift: 7 am–3:30 pm Monday–Friday with on‑call shift requirements.

Wellington Regional Medical Center, located in Wellington, Florida, is a 235‑bed acute‑care hospital owned by Universal Health Services, Inc. The hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and has been serving the community since 1986.

Responsibilities

The Imaging Procedural Nurse is responsible and accountable for all nursing care provided to patients. The nurse is accountable to the patient, the Department Manager, Department Director, Medical Director, and Chief Nurse Officer. Under the direction of the Department Manager and Medical Director, the Imaging Procedural Nurse assists the cardiologist and other allied professionals, both technically and clinically, in the assessment, planning, execution, and evaluation of care for interventional patients.

The nurse must be willing to cross‑train and float to other imaging service areas to meet facility needs.

Additional responsibilities include recognizing and responding to signs of stroke, calling a stroke alert, verbalizing the stroke alert process, performing and documenting the NIHSS, administering and monitoring thrombolytic therapy for eligible patients, preparing patients for endovascular treatment, and assuming patient care during stroke alerts in the Interventional Radiology Department. The nurse must maintain stroke knowledge by completing NIHSS training and at least 8 hours of stroke‑related training annually.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (A.D., diploma, B.S.N., or Master’s degree in nursing).
  • Current registered nurse’s license in the State of Florida.
  • Minimum of two years of critical care, IR, or cath‑lab experience preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Willingness to be cross‑trained to other areas.
  • Basic computer skills.
