We’re supporting a top-tier outpatient care group in Palm Beach County that’s seeking an experienced Ambulatory Care Nurse to provide short-term coverage for a maternity leave (3–6 months, with potential extension or long-term retention for a strong performer). This is a full-time, Monday–Friday role focused on supporting clinical operations, patient care coordination, and pain management procedures within a busy outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities- Perform pre-operative and post-operative calls to ensure safe patient preparation and recovery
- Support procedural days (1x per week dedicated to pain management) by assisting providers during treatments and ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Administer medications, perform IV therapy, wound care, and other nursing procedures within scope
- Conduct patient assessments, record vitals, and document findings in the electronic health record (Epic experience strongly preferred)
- Monitor and assess patient responses to treatments, escalating concerns to providers as appropriate
- Collaborate with clinical staff, physicians, and support teams to maintain efficient patient flow throughout the day
- Provide education and counseling to patients and families on care plans, medications, and post-procedure expectations
- Assist in triaging patient calls and clinical messages; coordinate follow-up as directed by providers
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, compliant, and patient-centered environment, supporting quality and performance improvement initiatives
- Hours:
Full-time, Monday through Friday (9-hour shift) - Start Time:
Staggered between 7:15 AM and 7:45 AM - Patient Volume:
Approx. 14 patients per day, with procedures every 30 minutes starting at 8:00 - Lunch:
Typically one hour, though flexibility for 30 minutes may be requested to support clinic flow - No weekends or on-call requirements
The nurse may rotate between West Palm Beach, Delray, and Boca sites, depending on coverage needs.
Ideal Candidate Profile- Tenured RN with prior experience in ambulatory care, outpatient procedures, or pain management settings
- Technical skills:
Proficiency in Epic (or other EMR platforms) and strong clinical documentation habits - Soft skills:
Able to hit the ground running with minimal training, demonstrate sound clinical judgment, and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment - Certifications:
Active RN license (FL) and BLS certification required; ACLS preferred - Assignment Length: 3 months (potential for extension or permanent placement based on performance)
