Job Summary
- Job Shift: Nights
- Job Type: Per Diem
- Coordinate and provide safe, quality care to patients using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Assist in organizing patient care activities as assigned.
- Assess physical, psychosocial, educational, and growth and development needs of the patient.
- Develop a written plan of care using assessment data.
- Implement nursing care plan.
- Evaluate patient’s response to interventions.
- Demonstrate leadership skills.
- Assist in organizing Patient Care Activities.
- Education:
Graduate of Registered Nurse Program. - Experience:
None. - License:
Registered Nurse.
- BLS/CPR (American Heart Association)
- Pass EKG test within 180 days of hire.
- Inexperienced (Novice or new to Labor & Delivery):
- ACLS (American Heart Association) – within 180 days of hire.
- NRP (American Academy of Pediatrics) – within 90 days of hire.
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course – within 9 months.
- Experienced (>1 year OB experience within last 5 years):
- ACLS at hire.
- NRP at hire.
- Proof of current AWHONN Intermediate fetal heart monitoring course at hire or one of the following:
- AWHONN FHM Advanced course.
- AWHONN FHM Simulation (FHMSIM) Intermediate level.
- C‑EFM (NCC‑Electronic FM).
St. Mary’s Medical Center (SMMC), part of the Palm Beach Health Network, is a 420‑bed acute‑care hospital in West Palm Beach. The hospital has been serving Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast for more than 80 years. SMMC is a Level 1 Trauma Center, a state‑designated Pediatric Trauma Referral Center, certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, and has a Level III NICU. Pediatric services are provided at the Palm Beach Children’s Hospital y’s Medical Center, which is the only dedicated children’s hospital between Ft.
Lauderdale and Orlando. Along with 24/7 dedicated pediatric emergency and trauma care, the Palm Beach Children’s Hospital medical staff consists of 196 pediatricians in 36 subspecialties.
