Registered Nurse

Position Overview

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a Registered Nurse for a temporary (PRN) position, working pick‑up shifts during the week. A shift differential is offered on all hours worked.

• Explain procedures and treatments to patients to gain cooperation, understanding, and reduce apprehension
• Screen patients prior to procedure for any precautions or contraindications
• Educate patients and families about pre-, intra-, and post‑procedure care
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments (e.g., contrast, sedation) in accordance with approved standards and regulations for care
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during treatment and examination of patients
• Maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of patients
• Observe patients, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisor or physician of patient’s condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents
• Monitor patient conditions including vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition
• Respond to life‑saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols
• Document patient history and physical assessment for assigned patients
• Initiate a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by physician and/or clinic policy, including patient and family instruction

• Participate in department or unit quality improvement activities
• Assist in establishing, evaluating, and updating patient care standards
• Maintain patient monitoring equipment and nursing equipment
• Maintain medication reconciliation for expired supplies
• Complete weekly AED and monthly crash‑cart check‑offs
• Keep daily temperature logs of medication fridge and blanket warmer
• Maintain istat log monthly, and upon receipt of new cartridges

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
• Registered Nurse with current appropriate state license
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or clinic

Preferred

• Bilingual
• Experience in outpatient radiology
