The Certified Nursing Assistant assists in the care of the patient and in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for patients and staff. The patient safety sitter is responsible for maintaining a visualization of patients who are identified as being at risk for elopement, self‑harm or falls.

St. Mary’s Medical Center (SMMC), part of the Palm Beach Health Network, is a 420‑bed acute care hospital in West Palm Beach.
